St Vincent dePaul Run for the Poor Charity Event Reaches 27th Anniversary
The St Martin District Council of St Vincent de Paul is pleased to announce that it will hold its 27th annual “Run for the Poor” fundraising event this year on Saturday, June 8th. The 5K race and fitness walk is a timed event that features trophies and awards for winners in many classes, and over 120 door prizes that go to many lucky participants.
The starting gun will sound at 9:00 AM with the start and finish lines located on the spacious grounds of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, located in the picturesque surroundings of Goshen in Clermont County. The race route is flat and scenic with a large portion of the race circuit winding its way through wooded areas of Miami Meadows Park. A water table at the half-way point of the race is staffed by cheering St Vincent dePaul volunteers for racers needing liquid and moral support.
Free refreshments after the race are provided by First Watch, one of the Run for the Poor’s corporate sponsors. More Run for the Poor info is available at www.runforthepoor.org. A link for discounted pre-race registration sign-up can be found on the website or by calling 513-474-1399. Mail-in registration sign-up flyers for the Run for the Poor can also be found in the back of Church.
