Beacons Of Light

On Tuesday, September 7th at 7 PM at St. Mary's Church, Fr. Reutter will have the first informative meeting regarding the "Beacons Of Light". All are encouraged to attend as this will shape all parishes in the Archdiocese. There will be a large number of priests who retire over the next 5 years. That with a declining attendance of congregation will determine what will we as church will look like in the future.

Disaster Relief

In response to a devastating 7.2 earthquake that killed over 2,000 people in Haiti in mid-August, the U.S. Bishops are coordinating an emergency relief effort to support our brothers and sisters in need. The island nation has been hard hit by the current earthquake and has not fully recovered from past natural disasters and social unrest. Many have lost loved ones. There will be a special collection on the weekend of September 11/12 combined with the Catholic Relief Services collection for victims of last month’s Hurricane Ida which caused massive destruction in Louisiana and the Northeast.  Please leave your donations in the basket marked ‘Disaster Relief – Haiti and Hurricane Ida.

Respect Life

Every October, we consider more deeply why every human life is valuable and reflect on how to build a culture that protects life from conception to natural death. On the weekend of October 2/3rd, we take up a special collection to support this. Every person is made in the image and likeness of God, and so each and every person has inherent dignity.

Jingle Bell News

St. Peter's annual bazaar is fast approaching (Nov. 6th), and we could use your help. This year we are trying something new--a Bid 'n' Buy table. We have a few really nice things to auction already, but would appreciate donations of gift cards or other quality items that you might be willing to contribute. We would also love to have some of your homemade goodies for our Bake Sale.

We are again offering a Luncheon, which relies on your generous donations of homemade soups. Deacon Ron is planning to make a large pot of spicy vegetable soup for the Luncheon.

Do you have a yummy favorite soup you could contribute? Finally, we could use some extra volunteers to help with set-up, sales. and clean-up. If you would like to donate or volunteer, please call Mary Ann Stang (513-550-1907) or email me at maryannstang@fuse.net. And don't forget to mark your calendar for this event! In addition to being a fund-raiser for the Parish, it is also a lot of fun.
