Entries for March 2021

March 19th is the solemn feast of St. Joseph. During this Year of St. Joseph, we would like to give special attention to the feast day. ”

St. Joseph’s Table: On Friday, March 19th, the feast of St. Joseph, on this day, we invite all parishioners from the region to celebrate the solemn holy Mass with us at 8:30a.m. at St. Peter’s.

Immediately after Mass, we invite parishioners to partake of the St. Joseph’s table. If you are not familiar with that devotional custom, this is a way to honor St. Joseph and celebrate the feast day, as well as take a break from our Lenten fasting.

In many countries of the world, parishioners outdo each other to see how fancy a table, laden with donated sweets and goodies, they can create, as parishioners share in the treats after Mass. We invite you to do the same by bringing a coffee cake, donuts, a favorite dessert or fruit to the St. Joseph table to share with others.

Please note: according to the Church’s canon law, on the solemn feast days which occur during Lent (St. Joseph, Annunciation), fasting and abstinence may be suspended. That means that, even though it is Friday, it is permitted to eat meat. Also, by custom, those who gave up sweets for Lent can “skip” the fast on that day.

Parish Council Nominations Needed At St. Mary’s
The election will be held in April. If you are interested in submitting your name as a candidate to serve on parish council, please either submit your name to Debbie, our parish secretary at 513.734.4041 or contact Lois Dennis at 513.277.9005, Pam Sandker: or Frank Jacquez:

As regional planning changes will soon be occurring for the parishes within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, we encourage those that have the desire to run for parish council to do so. We need dedicated, faithful servants of our parish to lead us through these times.

Yours in Christ,
The Election Committee of St. Mary’s Parish
